Australia's Working Holiday Visas: Travel, Work, and Explore

Australia offers two visa options for young adults who want to travel and work in the country to support their holiday:

Working Holiday Visa (Subclass 417)

Available to passport holders from eligible countries, this visa allows young adults (usually aged 18–30, or up to 35 for some countries) to stay in Australia for up to 12 months. It permits short-term work and study and can be extended if specific work requirements are met.

Work and Holiday Visa (Subclass 462)

This visa grants the person the right to live, study, and Work in Australia permanently. One must possess either the Subclasses 820 or 309 Visa and continue to be in an ongoing relationship at the time of applying for this visa. The applicant can be in or outside Australia when they apply for the Partner Visa.

Both visas are part of the Working Holiday Maker program, designed to promote cultural exchange and closer ties between Australia and partner countries. They allow holders to work to fund their travels and may lead to second or third visa grants if regional work conditions are met.
